Ida Mae Dryden (nee Voorhis) born June 1, 1910; died September 2005, wife of James Lynn Dryden born July 1911; died April 1972. Ida Mae Dryden, resident of Thousand Oaks, CA.(2005), formerly of Lancaster. Ca.(2001-2005), Rockville, MD.(1992-2001), Greenfield, In.(1988-1992), Alexandria Va.(1981-1988), Kailua, Hi(1977-1981), Enterprise, Al.(1975-1977), Costa Mesa, Ca.(1962-1975), Santa Maria, Ca. (1960-62) Fresno, Ca.(1955-60), Spokane, Wa. (1954-55), and North Hackensack, New Jersey (1910-1954). Graduate of Katherine Gibbs Business School (1929) in New York and worked as Assistant to the President of ESSO Oil, until required to take a maternity separation. Ida was mother to Susan (Brown), Anne (Colton, Tedrick) and James Dryden. Moved cross country supporting her husband's career choices. Returned to work in the emerging information technology industry in 1963 when she set up the financial records for three engineers "building things in the garage". She became the corporate memory in financial management for Varian data until her retirement in 1975. Joined her daughter Anne in Alabama in 1975 and stayed with her family until 1992, when an opportunity to join a retirement community in Rockville, Md., near her son James, was possible. Rejoined her daughter Anne in 2001 and moved to California. In January 2005, Ida moved in with her daughter Sue in Thousand Oaks, Ca. Ida died in September 2005 at the age of 95. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Cemetery, Coles County, Illinois. Markwell Funeral Home, Casey is assisting the family with arrangements.
