Howard L Goodwin's Obituary
Howard Leon Goodwin, 82, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 7:20 a.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at his home. He was born March 20, 1926 in Porterville, Illinois, the son of James H. Goodwin and Maude May Ratts Goodwin. On December 27, 1944 he married Neoma Lucille Fox in Robinson, Illinois. Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Neoma Goodwin of Casey, Illinois; daughter, Connie L. Kruger of Altamont, Illinois; daughter, Janice L. Milchman and husband Roger of Effingham Illinois; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. His parents, brothers, Clarence, Virgil and Denzil Goodwin; sisters, Ruby Taylor, Mabel Leeman and Velma Lovell and son-in-law, Don Kruger preceded him in death. Howard was a US Navy Veteran having served during World War II as a Seaman First Class. He was a life time member of the Casey VFW. Howard lived in Mattoon for over thirty years where he was a member of the Mattoon Christian Church. After his retirement from Anamet Metal Hose Factory in Mattoon, Illinois, Howard and Neoma moved to Casey in 1984 and became members of the Casey White Oak Church of God. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, Illinois with Rev. Kenny Inman officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery with Graveside Military Rites by the Casey VFW and Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, Illinois. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to Casey White Oak Church of God, 3305 E. 1000th Rd., Casey, IL 62420.
