Helen Winters' Obituary
Helen Leota Winters, age 102, of Casey, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at the Heartland Manor Nursing Center in Casey. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the Markwell & Son Funeral Home in Casey with Pastor Daniel Harper and Brent Winters officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 21 at the funeral home and burial will be in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. She was born August 21, 1903 in Jerry City, OH, the daughter of John Ruben and Louella May Noblet Hock. In 1908, at the age of five, she and her family moved to Casey where her father was an oilfield worker. She married Frederick Douglas Winters, Sr. on August 14, 1925 in Casey; he preceded her in death on June 16, 1978. She was a homemaker. As a child, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and in early womanhood, united with the Washington United Bretheren Church. Surviving are two sons, Frederick D. Winters, Jr. and wife Wanda M. and Howard Edwin Winters and wife Wanda R., all of Casey, daughter Sarah Elizabeth Cutright of El Cajon, CA, grandchildren David, Brent, Eric, Wesley, Mark and Marvin Winters, Marsha Toner and Bradley and Dixie Cutright, sister Christine Goodwin of Casey, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and three sisters. Memorials can be made to the donor's choice.
