Helen R Snedeker's Obituary
Helen R. Snedeker, 96, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 11:40 p.m. on Thursday, December 25, 2008 at Heartland Manor Care Center, Casey, Illinois. She was born December 2, 1912 in Hidalgo, Illinois the daughter of Ezra Elsworth Hays and Sarah Emma Cowger Hays. On May 18, 1931 in Newton, Illinois she married George E. Snedeker. He passed away on April 3, 1992. Survivors include daughters, Anna Belle Koester and husband John of Charleston, IL; Marie Galey of Crawfordsville, IN; Judy Murphy of Casey, IL and Susie Allred and husband Bill of Marshall, IL; sister, Opal Snedeker of Mattoon, IL; twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, daughters, Mary Snedeker, Marilyn Neal and Kay Hotze; two brothers, Jack Hays and Mike Hays; two sisters, Fern Thomas and Bernice Reisner and sons in law, Kenny Murphy and Lyle Galey preceded her. Mrs. Snedeker was a former employee of Casey TRW and Underwood Electric in Casey, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, Illinois with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Aten Cemetery, Hidalgo, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
