Helen J Sharp's Obituary
Helen J. Sharp, 94, of Martinsville, IL passed away 7:15 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born July 9, 1918 in Clark County, IL, the daughter of Herbert D. McCrory and Notie Mae Gallatin McCrory. On February 17, 1937 she married Howard W. Sharp. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1991. Survivors include her son, James Sharp and wife Irene of Martinsville, IL; daughter, Marilyn Brown of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Sherri Scheurich of Boca Raton, FL; John Brown and wife Amy of Casey, IL; great grandchildren, Grant and Greta Scheurich; Chelsey, Tyler, Ellie and Owen Brown; sister in law, Cleda McCrory of Yale, IL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, husband; brothers, Leonard McCrory and Willard McCrory; son in law, Robert L. Brown and infant grandson, James Howard Sharp, Jr. Mrs. Sharp was a retired LPN having worked at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, the Johnson Clinic in Casey, IL and Birchwood Nursing Center in Casey, IL. She was a member of the Friendship Church and was very musical in her younger days and was a talented piano player. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Rev. John Gartelos officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Friday at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 2509 South Neil Street, Champaign, IL 61820.
