Harold Kirk's Obituary
Harold W. Kirk, age 74, of Christopher, IL, formerly of Martinsville, died on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at the Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville with Rev. Kenny Bass officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2005 at the funeral home and burial will be in the Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg, IN. He was born November 14, 1931 in Princeton, IN the son of Warren Blake and Ethel Hale Kirk. He graduated from the Purdue University School of Pharmacy and worked as a pharmacist in Martinsville and Casey as well as several area pharmacies. He loved music and while at Purdue, was in the Purdue Glee Club and was a former member of the Coles County Barbershop Quartets. Surviving are two sons, Doug Kirk and wife Paula of Lawrenceville and Mike Kirk and wife Cheryl of Casey, two daughters, Lisa Gard and husband Bob of Marshall and Karen Weck and husband Randy of Findlay, OH, brother George Kirk and wife Maudine of Madison, IN, sister Eleanor Strickland of Calvert City, IN, sister-in-law Dorothy Kirk of Williamburg, VA, 10 grandchildren: Josh Gard and wife Amy, Luke Gard and Levi Gard, Chelsea and Derek Weck, Devan and Cori Kirk, and Abby, Lyndsey and Brittany Kirk and two great-grandchildren Emma and Allie Gard. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Maurice Kirk. Memorials may be made to the Purdue University Glee Club.
