Harold E Huckaba's Obituary
Harold E. Huckaba, 66, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at his home. He was born on December 21, 1947 in Greenup, IL, the son of Floyd Eugene Huckaba and Helen Henderson Huckaba. On July 30, 1968, he married Virginia Rose Powers in Honolulu, HI. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Ginny Huckaba of Martinsville, IL; sons, Harold E. Huckaba, Jr. of Martinsville, IL and Clayton Huckaba and wife Kristy of Casey, IL; granddaughter, Ashton Huckaba; brothers, Steve Huckaba and wife Tammy of Martinsville, IL and Kenny Huckaba and wife Donna of Martinsville, IL; sister, Kathy Myers and husband Terry of Antwerp, OH; and aunt, Caralee Swick of Casey, IL. He was preceded by his parents. Harold was in the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Machinist for the United Steelworkers of America AFLCIO/CLC Local 103-A out of Terre Haute for 42 years. Harold was a member of the Martinsville Masonic Lodge 603, Clark County Shrine Club, American Legion, and VFW. He was voted Shriner of the Year in 2013. Harold enjoyed the wildlife, fishing, guns and collecting games and antiques. He always had a wild life pet, including foxes, coyotes, raccoons, squirrels, an owl, and a skunk. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will be at the Ridgelawn Cemetery with graveside military rites by the Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2509 S. Neil St., Champaign, IL 61820.
