Harold Edward Connelly's Obituary
Harold Edward Connelly, 77, of Casey, IL formerly of Martinsville, IL and Boulder, CO passed away at 6:31 pm on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born May 15, 1938 in Martinsville, IL the son of Glenn Connelly and Vera M. Inman Connelly. Survivors include his brother, Gerald Connelly of Troutdale, OR; sisters, Norma Martin of Arvada, CO and Elaine Connelly of Henderson, CO, nephews, nieces, friends and his church family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Edgar G. Connelly and Lonnie E. Abrams. Harold was a 1956 graduate of Martinsville High School. He worked for Newman Orchard in Martinsville, IL, Casey Nursing Home in Casey, IL, for local farmers and mowed lawns for many years. He previously worked as a maintenance mechanic at the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. Harold was a man of great faith and a devoted member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Casey, IL, where he volunteered with numerous activities. He enjoyed hunting and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Ebbler and Rev. Todd Holman officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service on Friday at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 1000 US Highway 40 East, Casey, IL 62420.
