Harold W Briggs' Obituary
Harold Wayne Briggs, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born October 7, 1927 in Casey, Illinois the son of Clarence M. Briggs and Lena Murphy Briggs. He married Marion F. Boyer on May 25, 1958 in Westfield, Illinois. She passed away on September 11, 2003. Survivors include a brother, Victor P. Briggs and wife Audrey of LaPorte, IN, sisters, Irene Watts of Warrenton, MO, Elsie Lashbrook and husband Paul of Frankfort, Indiana, Mary Rodgers and husband Onie of Mattoon, Illinois, and Wilma Finney and husband Paul of Bel Air, Maryland. Several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Brother, Lester Briggs, Sister In Law, Marguerite Briggs and Brother In Law, Charles Watts. Harold was a retired farmer, he also worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and pulled wells with horses for Pure Oil Co. He was a member of the Casey White Oak Church of God and was a M.P. during the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Markwell Funeral Home, Casey with Rev. David Ridge and Rev. Kenny Inman officiating. Burial will be in Butternut Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4 - 7 p.m. at Markwell Funeral Home, Casey. Memorial may be made to the Casey White Oak Church of God.
