Harlan Hutchens' Obituary
Harlan Hutchens, Jr., 82, of Martinsville, Illinois passed away at 11:57 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2009 at his home. He was born June 5, 1926 in Vallejo, California, the son of Harlan Hutchens, Sr. and Bessie G. Rhoades Hutchens. On September 28, 1946, he married Betty Annetta Alvey in Terre Haute, Indiana. Survivors include sons, Richard Hutchens of Sacramento, CA; Charles Hutchens and wife Brenda of Martinsville, IL; daughters, Marsha Brown and husband Sam of Martinsville, IL; Judith Cash and husband Jeff of Martinsville, IL; Rebecca Baysinger and husband Rob of Yukon, OK; brothers, Herbert Hutchens and wife Donna of Fort Worth, TX; Wilbur Hutchens and wife Martha of Marshall, IL; Douglas (Butch) Hutchens and wife Susie of Paris, IL; sisters, Frances Kramer and husband Bob of Maplewood, MN and Jane Silverberg and husband David of Poplar Bluff, MO; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Hutchens, on January 12, 2008; daughters, Peggy, Mary Lou and Marian Sue Hutchens and Pamela Harris, and sisters Eleanor Hutchens and Mary Auld preceded him death. Mr. Hutchens was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Marshall VFW and Martinsville American Legion. He was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Casey, IL and the Knights of Columbus in Marshall, IL. He retired from Midland Glass Factory of Terre Haute, IN, where he worked doing machine maintenance. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sat. January 17, 2009, at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Casey, IL with Father Mike Haag officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL with graveside military rites by the Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, January, 16 with the Parish Wake Service starting at 4 p.m. at the Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville, IL.
