Grace L. Alumbaugh, age 93, of Casey, died on Monday, October 3, 2005 at Heartland Manor Nursing Center in Casey. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup with Bro. Marvin Oakley officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5 at the funeral home and burial will be in the Jewett Cemetery. She was born October 23, 1911 in Sullivan, IL, the daughter of Arthur Nelson and Leona Durcella Morgan Herendeen. She married Chester Lessie Alumbaugh; he preceded her in death on July 24, 1967. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are sons Eugene Alumbaugh and wife Patricia of Herrin, Jack Alumbaugh and wife Carla of Neoga and John Alumbaugh and wife Marge of Mattoon, daughter Evelyn Phillipi of Casey, sisters Sarah Butt of Bethany and Bonnie Wallace of Sullivan, 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, two granddaughters, two brothers and five sisters. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
