Glenda E. McSchooler Burson, 71, of Casey, IL passed away at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. surrounded by her family. She was born June 29, 1940 in Casey, IL, the daughter of John Wesley McSchooler and Beulah P. Bennett McSchooler. Survivors include son, Tony A. Burson and wife Dana of Clemmons, NC; daughter, Bobbi J. Simpson and husband Steve of Morton, IL; daughter, Sandy M. Briggs and fiancé Jay Markwell of Casey, IL; longtime companion and fiancé, Rick Roberts of Terre Haute, IN; sister, Marilee Paul and husband Eddie of Greenup, IL; brother, Earl McSchooler and wife Lynn of Casey, IL; granddaughters, Cori Sander of Morton, IL; Leslie Smith and husband Shane of East Peoria, IL and Brittany Briggs of Indianapolis, IN; great grandchildren, Garrett, Anne and Levi Sander and Cooper Smith and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; father of her children, Jack Burson; and brother, Mervin Keith McSchooler. Glenda was a retired telephone operator for Alltel Telephone Co. in Casey, IL and later in Rantoul, IL. Glenda loved Myrtle Beach and after her retirement she enjoyed spending as much time as possible on the beach with her children and grandchildren. Glenda loved life and cherished her time and visits with her family. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Markwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Penelope Barber officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to Kathy's Dream c/o Casey Health Care Center, 100 NE Fifteenth St., Casey, IL 62420.
