Gerry Allen Smith's Obituary
Gerry Allen Smith, age 63, of Casey, IL peacefully passed away in the loving arms of his daughter at 6:40 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at his residence. He was born June 15, 1961 in Charleston, IL, the son of Jimmie L. Smith and Martha Rosemary (Hall) Smith. On March 28, 1980 he married Tammy Lyn Gosnell in Casey, IL.
Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Tammy Smith of Casey, IL; son, Alan Smith (Jennifer) of Casey, IL; daughter, Torie Smith of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Joshua, Jameson, Jeremiah, and Josiah Smith and Owen and Dillon Tate; brother, James Smith (Debbie) of Casey, IL; sister, Sandra Hammer of Martinsville, IL; and his french bulldog, Bella. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Brian Hammer; and dog, Rossy.
Gerry attended Casey High School where he met the love of his life Tammy. He was a fabricator for Yargus now AGI in Clark Center for twenty-five years. Gerry was a member of Greenup Southern Baptist Church. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially going mushroom hunting and antiquing. Gerry was so proud of his children and grandsons. He found such joy in the opportunity to teach Owen to drive and help Dillion tinker with his projects.
To honor Gerry’s wishes, no services will be held.
