Gerald M Duvall's Obituary
Gerald M. "Smokey" Duvall, 86, of Casey, IL passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born on July 7, 1925 in Greenup, IL, the son of Pearl Duvall and Inez Watts Duvall. On March 16, 1946, he married Hazel June Cragle in Greenup, IL. She passed away on August 20, 1993. Survivors include sons, David (Ellen) Duvall of Vandalia, IL; Terry (Jane) Duvall, Gary Duvall, Danny (Kay) Duvall and Robert Duvall, all of Casey, IL; daughters, Vickie (Harold) Sandiford of Oblong, IL; Myrna (Steve) Keeney of Casey, IL; Kathy (Gene) Galloway of Sumner, IL; Kay Ann (Mike) Sherwood of Casey, IL; twenty-three grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Lodema Irene Heyser and daughter in law, Marsha Duvall. Smokey was a retired forklift driver for AMF in Olney, IL for over twenty years. He was a US Army WWII veteran and a member of the Greenup American Legion. He loved to sell and deal in melons and produce. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with the Rev. Dr. Penelope Barber officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Casey VFW and the Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2509 S.
