George J Milbourn's Obituary
George J. Milbourn, 83, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 1:24 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at St. Anthony Hospital, Effingham Illinois. He was born March 19, 1925 in Bullskin, Illinois, the son of Daniel Milbourn and Martha Lucinda Moore Milbourn. On July 14, 1945 he married Dotty O'Dell in Casey, Illinois. Survivors include his wife of sixty two years, Dotty Milbourn of Casey, IL; daughter, Marla Beasley and husband Evan of Casey, IL; daughter, Vicky Wood of Martinsville, IL; grandchildren, Dorinda Dreher of Casey, IL; Aaron Kemper and wife Julia of Greenup, IL; Amanda Wood of Martinsville, IL; great grandchildren, Heather Smith, Joel Dreher, Ethan Kemper, and great great grandson, Keith Smith. His parents, seven brothers and six sisters preceded him in death. George was the Manager of United Propane in Mattoon, IL. He was retired after eighteen years as a Police Officer for Casey, IL, where he served as Chief of Police for eight years. George was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He attended the First Southern Baptist Church in Greenup, IL and was a member of the Casey V.F.W. Post #5762. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Brooke Davis and Rev. Ivan Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery with graveside military rites by the Casey V.F.W. and Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the Casey V.F.W. Post #5762, 300 S. Central Ave., Casey, IL 62420.
