George O'Neal Guyer's Obituary
George O'Neal Guyer, 87, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. He was born February 1, 1922 in Hutsonville, Illinois, the son of Ray Franklin Guyer and Nola Dorothy Cooper Guyer. On October 17, 1942, he married Dorothy Jean Webster in Brazil, Indiana. Survivors include his wife, Jean Guyer of Martinsville, Illinois; son, John Guyer and wife Mary of Robinson, Illinois; daughter, Ruth Morris of Martinsville, Illinois; brother, Larry Joe Guyer and wife Carol of Summerfield, Florida; 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His parents, stepmother, Lula Chapman Guyer, brother, Jerry Guyer and an infant brother preceded him in death. Mr. Guyer was a retired farmer. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, a member of the Willow Creek Church of Martinsville, IL, Martinsville American Legion, Marshall VFW and Clark Co. Farm Bureau. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, IL with Rev. Kevin Small officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday evening at the funeral home in Martinsville, IL. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to Willow Creek Church Lord's Acre Fund, 6492 E. 400th Rd., Martinsville, IL 62442.
