Gail A Biermann's Obituary
Rev. Gail A. Biermann, 91 of Casey, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Casey Health Care Center. He was born on January 10, 1915 in St. Louis, MO to Oscar Ernst Biermann and Bertha Addie Williams Biermann. On June 26, 1938 in Jacksonville, IL he married Thelma M. Graves, she passed away on July 30, 2004. Survivors include his daughters, Carolyn Bertram and husband Bill of Martinsville, IL and Mary R. Lebovitz and husband Carl of Charleston, IL; sons, Paul Biermann and wife Janice of Elsberry, MO and Tim Biermann and wife Melinda of Mountainview, MO; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, wife, one brother, Stedman Biermann, one granddaughter, and three great grandchildren. Mr. Biermann attended Hadley Engineering School in St. Louis, MO and Southwest Baptist College in Boliver, MO. Rev. Biermann was ordained as a Baptist Minister in Chilhowee, MO in 1936, he was an evangelist for several years and then pastored churches in Missouri, Oklahoma and Illinois until his retirement in 1995 at the age of 80. While serving as Associational Missionary in the 1950's he founded churches in Lovington and Tuscola, IL. He was a member of the Casey First Baptist Church and was also a talented musician and composer of hymns. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Casey First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Marsh and Rev. Curt Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery south of Annapolis, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church. Markwell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Casey First Baptist Church, 101 E. Alabama St., Casey, IL 62420.
