Forest Dale "Frosty" Malcom's Obituary
Forest Dale "Frosty" Malcom, 83, of Robinson, IL and Naples, FL formerly of the Casey, IL area passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. He was born November 23, 1929 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Harry B. Malcom and Opal Maurine Wilson Malcom. On January 3, 1954 he married Loreda I. Carlen in Hazel Dell, IL. She passed away on July 6, 1990. He later married Betty Jean Woodard in 1993 in Robinson, IL. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Malcom of Robinson, IL; brother, Harold "Jack" Malcom of Charleston, IL; sons, Douglas K. Malcom of Casey, IL; Roger E. Malcom of Indianapolis, IN and David L. Malcom of Bon Aqua, TN; grandson, David R. Malcom of Bon Aqua, TN; sisters in law, Janis Greenwell of Casey, IL; LaDora Carlen of Casey, IL and Sharon Carlen of Casey, IL and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by stepdaughter, Carolyn (Jim) Brendemuehl of Lake Wales, FL; stepson, Dr. Brian (Gena) Woodard of Carbondale, IL; and step grandchildren, Jamie Fiore of Denver, CO; Jonathan Brendemuehl of Des Moines, IA; Meredith Woodard of Indianapolis, IN; Emily Woodard of Franklin, TN; Blake Woodard of Evansville, IN and step great grandson, Jack Fiore of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Loreda Malcom; brothers in law, Roland Carlen and Raymond Eugene Carlen; daughter in law, Deborah Malcom; and nephew, Keith Malcom. Mr. Malcom graduated from Casey High School in 1948. He then served his country in the US Air Force in the Philippines and Japan during The Korean War. Forest spent his lifetime working in the oil field business, working for Birdwell Oil Company, Raytheon Company and Seismograph Service Corporation until his retirement in 1991. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the Donor's Choice.
