Floyd F Cushman's Obituary
Floyd F. Cushman, 88, of Casey, Illinois passed away 4:29 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born June 16, 1921, in Springerton, Illinois, the son of Walter Latham Cushman and Ida Winder Cushman. On June 15, 1940 he married Ruby H. Williams in Kentucky. Survivors include his wife of sixty-nine years, Ruby H. Cushman of Casey, IL; daughter, Sondra K. Powell and husband Clyde of Rockville, IN; son, Richard L. Cushman and wife Nancy of Marshall, IL; son, Walt D. Cushman of Atlanta, GA; brother, Hildan Cushman of Texas; sister, Maxine Lee of Fairfield, IL; grandchildren, Brent Powell and wife Annette, Brian Powell and wife Kris; Rhonda Curran and husband Dan; Chuck Cushman, Matt Cushman and wife Erin; Eric Cushman and Holly Cushman; great grandchildren, Chelsea Beasley and husband Jimmy, Taylor Powell, Adam Powell, Logan Powell and Aidan Curran and great great grandson, Griffin Beasley. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rosemary Flexter. Floyd spent most of his life working as a equipment operator, tool pusher and driller in the oilfields. He also worked for Staley's Mobil Service Center in Casey for many years. He was retired from Charleston Stone Company in Charleston, IL. Floyd was a US Army WWII veteran and a member of the Casey VFW and Marshall American Legion. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Bro. Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Springerton Cemetery, Springerton, Illinois.
