Esther May Meeker's Obituary
Esther May "Dove" Hall Meeker, 89, of Yale, IL passed away at 3:20 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at St. Anthony Hospital, Effingham IL. She was born May 19, 1921, in Newport, KY, the daughter of Fred Hall and Minnie Irene Rotroff Hall. On May 23, 1940, she married Doyt Meeker in Marshall, IL. He passed away on September 14, 1977. Survivors include her son, Doyt Ernest Meeker, Jr. of Yale, IL; nephew, Richard Pittman of CO; Charles Meeker and wife Nina of Casey, IL; niece, Rebecca Robertson of Loveland, CO; foster brothers, Keith Sheridan and Garvin Sheridan of Oblong, IL; two great nieces and one great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, foster parents, Harvey and Audrey Sheridan; husband, brother, "Bud" Alva Lewis Hall; sister, Gladys L. Marcho; half brothers, Robert Marshall and Eugene Marshall; foster brother, Gordon Sheridan and nieces, Tanya Sue Pittman and Patricia Newkirk. Mrs. Meeker was a homemaker and previously worked for Ettlebrick Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Hazel Dell, IL and the Widow Club in Newton, IL. Funeral services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Hazel Dell South Cemetery, Hazel Dell, IL with Pastor Daniel Harper officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the family c/o Markwell Funeral Home, P.O.
