Ernest Earl Mullen's Obituary
Ernest Earl "Shorty" Mullen, Sr., 92, of Casey, IL passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at his home. He was born September 23, 1919 in Cumberland County, IL, the son of William Perry Mullen and Minnie Elizabeth Shafer Mullen. In 1944, he married Margaret Jane McKinzie in Old Monroe, MO. She passed away in 1987. Survivors include his daughter in law, Neoma Stephen Mullen of Martinsville, IL; grandchildren, Rob Mullen and wife Jennifer of Rockford, IL; Deric Mullen and wife Tammy of Martinsville, IL; Bradley Mullen and wife Pam of Martinsville, IL; Marcy Myers and husband Robert of Stanley, NC; great grandchildren, Brianna Manning, Shelby Mullen, Brant Mullen, Lindsey Hayes, Cale Mullen and Reese Mullen. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Ernest Earl "Bill" Mullen, Jr.; brother, Leslie Raymond "Buzz" Mullen; sister, Marie Cusick; half-sister, Nora Daugherty; grandson, Chad Aaron Mullen and great granddaughter Samantha Diane Mullen. Ernest worked for the Ettlebrick Shoe Factory for over forty years. He was a lifelong resident of Casey, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery in Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 to service time of 10:30 a.m. on Monday morning at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the Martinsville First Christian Church, P.O. Box 188., Martinsville, IL 62442.
