Ellen Mae Curley's Obituary
Ellen Mae Curley of Casey, IL passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Heartland Manor Nursing Center in Casey, IL. She was born March 16, 1923 in Coles County, Illinois to Calvin E. Brandenburg and Lillie E. Rogers Brandenburg. She married William J. Curley on December 27,1943 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He passed away on October 5, 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ellen Harrison and husband Larry of Martinsville and Cathy Downey and husband Jerry of Casey, a son William James Curley, Jr. of Paris and a sister Clorean Finney of Oblong. Other survivors include 8 Grandchildren, Bryan "Rich" Cox and wife Rogelinga of Anchorage, AK, Jim Cox of Westfield, Tracie Katz of Charleston, David Cox of Mattoon, Andrea and Amanda Harrison of Martinsville, Lori Weishiet of Marshall and John Beasley of Casey and 9 Great Grandchildren, Jordan and Trey Katz, Zachary Hollowell, Amber and Travis Cox, Taylor Hollingsworth, and Nicholas, Nathan and Emily O'Rourke. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 Sisters, Dorthea Downey, Clarice Antrican, Ina Cox and Opal Nichols, 3 Brothers, William, Max and Denzil Brandenburg and 1 Grandson Rodney Cox. Ellen had previously worked at Underwood Electric, T.R.W. and Davis Cafe. She was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Casey and also a member of the St. Charles Altar Society. Funeral services will be Monday, April 24, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic church with Father Chris Brey officiating. Burial will be in Casey-Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4-7 p.m. at Markwell Funeral Home, Casey with a Parish Wake serice at 7:00 p.m. with Father Jeff Grant. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association.
