Eldon Leslie Loftis' Obituary
Eldon Leslie Loftis, 68, of Hazel Dell, IL passed away at 3:53 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2014 at his home. He was born on September 8, 1945 in Martinsville, IL, the son of Frank Leslie Loftis and Anna Mae Kennedy Loftis. On August 20, 1994, he married Peggy Lynn Claypool in Casey, IL. Survivors include his wife Peggy Loftis of Hazel Dell, IL; daughters, Becky Rosales and husband Louis of El Campo, TX and Debbie Huffman of Palestine, IL; stepdaughters, Amy Silverman of West Salem, IL, Shannon Lamb and husband Charlie of Shelbyville, IL and Jessica Shutts of Hazel Dell, IL; brother, Howard D. Loftis of Stoy, IL; sister, Wanda Welch of Moriah, IL; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents; brother, David Loftis; grandson, Michael Shutts and great grandson Aiden Michael. Eldon attended the Moriah Church of God. He was a man who enjoyed work and being out in the oilfields, which is evident in his more than forty years of working in the oilfields. He enjoyed camping and fishing. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Harper and Rev. Larry Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Restitution Cemetery, south of Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
