Edwin Richard Dotson's Obituary
Edwin Richard (Dick) Dotson of Martinsville, Illinois and Alpharetta, Georgia was born September 14, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio. He entered eternal life January 22, 2016 in Alpharetta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Helaine Dotson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn, son William (Debbie) of Lake Butler, Florida, daughter Kathleen Dotson Moosa of Alpharetta, Georgia, son in law Ernie Moosa of John's Creek, Georgia, granddaughter Ashlee Johnson (Steven), grandson Adam Dotson (Jennifer) and great-grandsons Landon Johnson and Oliver Richard Dotson. He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a school administrator for the Miami, Florida school system for 30 years, before retiring. He was a member of the Martinsville American Legion, National Education Association, and a Life Member of the University of Florida Alumni Association. He attended the Martinsville Bible Church. Visitation will be held at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, Illinois on Wednesday January 27, 2016 from 4:00pm to 7:00 pm. Services will be held Thursday January 28, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Greenwell Funeral Home 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, Illinois followed by internment at the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, Illinois. Memorial donations made be made to the Martinsville Bible Church, 509 E Ridgelawn Rd, Martinsville, IL 62442 or the American Legion Post #515, PO Box 273, Martinsville Illinois 62442.
