Edward Shotts' Obituary
Edward Leon Shotts, age 76, of Martinsville, died on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with Rev. Glenn Arbuckle and Bro. Art Orndorff officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 10 and from 7 a.m. to time of service on Tuesday, October 11 at the funeral home and burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in rural Martinsville. He was born August 7, 1929 in Clark County, the son of Edward and Dorothy Brosman Shotts. He married Irene Martin on August 14, 1948 in Casey; she survives. He was a retired construction worker, a member of the Local #204 of Terre Haute, IN and a member of the Freedom Baptist Church of Martinsville. Surviving are his wife Irene Martins Shotts of Martinsville, daughter Violet Heather and husband Glen of Martinsville, brother Larry Shotts and wife Betty of Newton, sister Beverly Peters and husband Wayne of Paris, granddaughters Stacey Herrington and husband Matt of Dennison, Brandy Heatherly of Martinsville and Kasey Heatherly and fiancee John Hirtzer of Martinsville, great-grandchildren Katelyn Herrington and Dylan Herrington, both of Dennison, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice.
