Edna Baird's Obituary
Edna Baird, of Martinsville, IL died at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 30 days. She died at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 1, 1913 in Martinsville, IL to Homer and Vina Wright Snyder. On June 11, 1932 she married J.I. (John Ishmael) Baird in Martinsville. He passed away on May 2, 1995. She is survived by her children Carolyn (Dale) Miller, Patty Price, Don (Bonnie) Baird, Joe (Toni) Baird, Peggy (Dave) Snyder, Lynn (Tim) Denham, all of Martinsville, Dean (Judy) Baird of Anderson, IN, John (Pat) Baird, Charles (Liz) Baird of New Cumberland, WV, Bill ( Laurie) Baird of Caseyville, IL, 26 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was also preceded by her parents, two sons, Dale and Jim Baird and grandson, Billy Baird, one daughter-in-law, Marcie Baird, one son-in-law, Don Price, two sisters, Goldie Husted and Bertha Snyder and one brother, Charlie Snyder. She prepared many, many Sunday dinners for the family and was known far and wide for her ham and beans, fried chicken and her pies were "blue ribbon" quality. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, IL with Rev. Brian Miller officiating, assisted by Kristi Price and Chet Snyder. Burial will be in the Baird Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
