Edith Mae Owen's Obituary
Edith Mae Owen, 89, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 6:40 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2008 at Heartland Manor Nursing Home in Casey, Illinois. She was born June 1, 1919 in Webb City, Missouri, the daughter of Elmer Van Volkenburg and Effie A. Merideth Van Volkenburg. On August 30, 1946, she married Raymond Dallas Owen in Marshall, Illinois; he passed away on September 18, 1995. Survivors include son, Terry Owen and wife Kathleen of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Linda Carver and husband Wayne of Casey, IL; daughter, Sandra Johnson and husband Douglas of Bull Head City, AZ; one grandchild; three step grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, and four step great great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, brothers, William Ray Van Volkenburg, Tom Van Volkenburg, Nicola Van Volkenburg, Carl Willard Van Volkenburg and sister, Louise Perkins preceded her in death. Mrs. Owen was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Casey, IL. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the First Christian Church in Casey, Illinois with Rev. Rick Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church, 200 S.E. Eighth St., Casey, IL 62420.
