Dustin Lee Howe, 21, of Yale, IL passed away at 12:24 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Indiana University Health Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on January 19, 1993 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Steven Richard Howe and Vicki Lee Hicks Howe. Survivors include his parents, Steve and Vicki Howe of Yale, IL; sister, Brandy Jo Nash and husband Chris of Greenup, IL; nephews, Cooper and Reid Nash of Greenup, IL; maternal grandparents, Robert and Joy Hicks of Sun City West, AZ; paternal grandmother, Maurine Howe of Casey, IL; special caring friends, Jerry and Sandy Middleton of Yale, IL and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard Howe. Dustin was a member of the New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Yale, IL. He was in his senior year at D.D.C. Franklin School in Mattoon, IL. Their special interaction, care and admiration brought joy to Dustin, his attendants and his family. Dustin touched many people with his love and laughter; he was a true warrior. Dustin loved and was loved by his family, his church family, his school and the drivers and the attendants who transported him to and from school each day. Dustin was cared for and loved immensely by his devoted family and friends. Private family services will be held. Burial will follow in the Hickory Cemetery, Yale, IL. In Dustin's honor his family has requested memorial donations to the D.D.C. Franklin School, 1201 S. Sixth St., Mattoon, IL 61938.
