Dr. Hal Curtis Hudson, Sr.'s Obituary
Dr. Hal Curtis Hudson, Sr., age 55, of Casey, IL formerly of Caro, MI passed away at 8:34 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County, IL. He was born May 22, 1962 in Mattoon, IL, the son of George Matthew Hudson and Geneva Pearl Johnson Hudson.Survivors include his children, Dalice Janice Hudson, Hal Curtis Hudson, Jr. and Lecretia Leanne Hudson and ex-wife, Alice Marie Hudson all of Caro, MI. He is also survived by his many loving cousins in the Casey area. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Hudson on October 7, 2015 and Geneva Hudson on February 16, 2009; sister, Janice Earlene Ormsby on October 10, 1968 and many uncles and aunts.Hal was a 1980 graduate of Casey High School. He graduated from Lake Land College and obtained his Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of Illinois. Since July 2011, Dr. Hudson was an Extension Horticulture Educator for Commercial/Consumer Vegetable Production at Michigan State University.For the past year, Hal bravely fought a rare hereditary liver disease, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. Sadly his hope for organ transplant had not come through for him.His dedication in providing loving care to his aging father was heroic. He was his father"™s pride and joy. Hal was a gentle and kind man with a steadfast dedication to any goal he sought; a very warm hearted guy with the highest integrity.Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N.
