Doyt F Ritter's Obituary
Doyt F. Ritter, age 93, of Casey, died on Monday, June 6, 2005 at Casey Health Care Center in Casey. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2005 at the Markwell & Son Funeral Home in Casey with Kurt Conner officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, at the funeral home and burial will be in the Walnut Chapel Cemetery. He was born March 6, 1912 in Kinmundy, Ill., the son of James Fremont and Deila "Ethel" Hickox Ritter. He married Vera Bernice Black on August 1, 1931 in Newton; she preceded him in death on March 21, 1985. He was a farmer in both Clark and Crawford counties. He retired in 1974 and moved to Casey. He was a lifetime member of the Walnut Chapel Church of Christ and served as an Elder for 50 years. Survivng are two sons, Duane Ritter and wife Eileen of Tulsa, Ok., and Ivan Ritter and wife Ila Mae of Brownsburg, IN., brother Charles Ritter of Casey, sister Lois Ritter of Casey, and grandchildren Brenda Conner and husband Kurt, Scott Ritter, David Ritter and wife Denise and Mark Ritter and wife Chiqeeta, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother William Ritter, sisters Margaret "Maggie" Drake and Mary Ludwig, and granddaughter Nancy Ritter. Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice.
