Dorothy Worden's Obituary
Dorothy Lucille Worden, age 89, of Assumption, formerly of Casey, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2006 at her home. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at the Markwell and Son Funeral Home in Casey with Mrs. Carol Pringle officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the service time at the funeral home and burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery. She was born July 16, 1916 in Union Center, the daughter of Henry A. and Dovie Lee Sidwell. She married John Wesley Worden on May 25, 1944; he preceded her in death on December 4, 1967. She taught in the country schools of Cumberland County and the Casey School District as a first and fourth grade teacher. She was a 1935 graduate of Greenup High School and earned her BS and MS in Education from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Juanita Fribley and husband Jim of Assumption, IL; Grandson, James Wesley Fribley of Oxford, England; Niece, Jean Freeman of Woodbridge, IL; Nephews, Don Sidwell of Greenup, IL; Jerry Sidwell of Greenup, IL; and Larry Sidwell of Jacksonville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters, Esther Rickard and Ruby Sidwell and brothers, Wayne Sidwell, Roy Sidwell and Buren Sidwell. Memorials may be made to the Library of the Donor's Choice.
