Dorothy O. Luke, 106, of Casey, IL passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. She was born January 12, 1906 in Clark County, IL, the daughter of John Freeman Gallatin and Fanny Miller Gallatin. On May 7, 1932 she married Don Harry Luke in Martinsville, IL. He passed away on January 20, 1997. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Ann Ferren and husband Robert of New Smyrna Beach, FL; grandsons, Robert Scott Ferren of Tallahassee, FL and Matthew Steven Ferren of Deland, FL; granddaughter, Cynthia Ann Runyon of Tamaroa, IL; great grandchildren, Parker Ferren, Tony Runyon and Jessica Runyon and great great grandson, Isaiah Runyon. She was preceded by her parents, husband, brothers, Harry Gallatin and John Gallatin and sister, Marie Galey. Mrs. Luke lived in Casey her entire life. She had worked as a Clerk for various businesses. She was a member of the Greenup Methodist Church, Greenup, IL. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. The family requests donations to Kathy's Dream (Alzheimer's Garden) c/o Casey Health Care Center, 100 NE Fifteenth St., Casey, IL 62420.
