Donald Wayne "Donnie" Melton, 42, of Atwood, IL formerly of Kansas, IL passed away at 3:16 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was born January 26, 1965 in Robinson, Illinois, the son of Jessie Elsworth Melton and Elizabeth Verhey Melton. Survivors include his mother, Liz Wilson of Kansas, IL; fiancé, Kathy Cooley of Atwood, IL and her mother, Bernice Pratt of Decatur, IL; son, Kevin Cooley of Arcola, IL; stepson, James Cooley, Jr. of Sullivan, IL; stepdaughter, Angela Stelte of Mendota, IL; grandchildren, Chelsey, Robert and Miles Quance; brothers, David Melton of Casey, IL and Ron Melton of Kansas, IL; and sisters, Barb Haisch of Anniston, AL and Amy Rideout and husband James of Newman, IL. His father preceded him in death. Donnie was a small engine mechanic for Power Plus in Arthur, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the Markwell Chapel, Westfield, IL with Rev. Jerry Silver officiating. Burial will be in the Enon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Markwell Chapel, Westfield, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
