Donald Harrison "Donnie" Douglas' Obituary
Donald Harrison "Donnie" Douglas, 44, of Casey, IL passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Indiana University Medical Hospital, Indianapolis, IN after a courageous eight week battle with cancer. He was born September 1, 1969 in Bradenton, FL, the son of Donald Lewis Douglas and Lynetta Lou Wilhoit Douglas. Survivors include his mother, Lynn Isley and husband Glen of Casey, IL; father, Donald L. Douglas of Sugar Hill, GA; companion, Thomas Stair and his daughter, Camilla Stair of Avon, IN; sister, Patricia "Patti" Lowe and husband Greg of Casey, IL; nieces and nephew, Sheldon Lowe, Shelby Lowe and Sheridan Lowe; great nephew, Camdin Lowe; step-brothers and sisters, Theresa Graham, John Edney, Connie Spaziano, Kurt (Angie) Isley, Melissa Isley, Greg (Andrea) Isley, Jimmy Wickiser, Cal Wickiser, Denny Wickiser and Sonny Wickiser, uncles, aunts, cousins, special friends and his beloved cocker spaniels, Toola, Maggie and Azia. Donnie was a 1987 graduate of Casey High School and a graduate of Long's School of Cosmetology in Terre Haute, IN. He worked at Stephen's in Martinsville and Charleston, IL for sixteen years and West 86th Hair Designs in Indianapolis, IN. Most recently Donnie had opened his own salon, Textures in Casey, IL. Donnie was a well-respected, multitalented, sassy workaholic who was driven by his affection for all of his clients. He was a member of the Casey VFW Men's Auxillary. Donnie loved shopping and had a passion for cars and trucks. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Markwell Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. There will be a "Celebration of Donnie's Life" held at the Casey VFW at a later date.
