Don R O'Dell's Obituary
Don R. O'Dell, 89, of Yale, IL and formerly of Casey, passed away at 11:05 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2006 at Heartland Manor Nursing Center, Casey, IL. He was born June 14, 1917 in Yale, IL the son of John O'Dell and Stella Mae Barnum O'Dell. On September 15, 1946 in Detroit, MI he married Mary Louise Perham. Survivors include his wife, Mary O'Dell of Yale, IL; daughters, Sallie Cox and husband Jerry of Martinsville, IL, Donna Tutewiler and husband James of Casey, IL and Thelma Smith of Toledo, IL; son, Larry Orndorff and wife Rachel of Terre Haute, IN; nine grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, six brothers and six sisters. Don was retired in 1976 from Casey Nursing Home as the maintenance supervisor. He was a World War II Army veteran. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar and keyboard, and in his earlier years he performed in local bands. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Markwell Funeral Home, Casey with Rev. Gene Southard officiating. Burial will be in Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
