Dexter Jean Gary, 61, of Marshall, Illinois passed away at 1:28 a.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at his home in Marshall, Illinois. He was born December 8, 1949, in Abbeville, Louisiana, the son of Jean Noah Gary and Lorita Suire Gary. On March 18, 1993, he married Susan Lorraine Doran in Martinsville, Illinois. Survivors include his wife, Susan L. Gary of Marshall, IL; children, Kay Guidry of Kaplan, LA; Dirk Gary of Kaplan, LA; Raven Harrington of Maurice, LA; Aaron Gary of Marshall, IL; Abram Gary of Marshall, IL; Kaitlin Gary of Marshall, IL and Kaci Gary of Marshall, IL; stepdaughters, Alisha Bowers of Marshall, IL and Randi Brewer of Marshall, IL; niece, Johnette Bellard; grandsons, Zachary Guidry; Tyler Guidry, Blyde Frederick, Ory Frederick, Lee Frederick, Haydn Harrington; Chase Bowers and Christopher King and granddaughter, Keira Bowers. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Billie Bellard. Dexter was a retired truck driver for Maverick Transportation in Little Rock, Arkansas. He could be found in the woods during hunting season as he was an avid hunter. He loved gardening in the summer and was into ham radio. He enjoyed his Cajun music and loved cooking Cajun dishes.
