Dennis Wright's Obituary
Rev. Dennis W. Wright, age 50, of Marshall, died on Friday, August 26, 2005 in the emergency room of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at the Marshall Church of the Nazarene, 1110 S. 9th Street. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 and from 7 a.m. to time of service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery in rural Marshall. Pearce Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements. He was born May 22, 1955 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of John and Laura Jane Thompson Wright. He married Teresa Truelove on August 27, 1978 at the Marshall Church of the Nazarene; she survives. He was currently serving as the minister of the Marshall Church of the Nazarene and had held that position since 1983. He was a gradute of Marshall High School and Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO. He was the Chaplain and former dispatcher for the Clark County Sheriff's office and had formerly been involved with the Marshall Fire Protection Ambulance Service. He also served as the Emergency Services Chaplain for the Marshall area. He also served as a mentor in the Marshall Mentoring Program, was a past member of the Marshall School Foundation and a member of the Marshall Ministerial Alliance. Surviving are his wife, Teresa, sisters Connie Lamb and husband Jerry of Marshall and Virginia Lowe and husband Tom of Terre Haute, Tavey Wright of Oak Lawn and Ellen Wright of Marshall, brothers David Wright and wife Lisa of Buckeye, AZ and Richard Wright of Terre Haute, father and mother-in-law Harold and Abbie Truelove of Marshall, brothers-in-law Tim Truelove and wife Tammy and Noah Truelove both of Marshall, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to the Marshall Church of the Nazarene.
