Dennis Wayne "Dude" Durnal's Obituary
Dennis Wayne (Dude) Durnal, Sr., 66, of Casey, IL passed away at 5:46 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born July 26, 1943 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Bonnie Durnal. He married Roberta Duniphan on April 21, 1963. Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Zakowski of Casey, IL; children, Belinda Sue Clark of Casey, IL; Dennis Wayne Durnal, Jr. and wife Becky of Casey, IL and Melinda Kay Stutesman and husband Bobby of Casey, IL; the mother of his children, Roberta Durnal of Casey, IL; brothers, Dana Hurt and wife Martha of Mattoon, IL; Tony Zakowski of Robinson, IL; Joseph Zakowski and wife Kim of San Diego, CA; sisters, Melody Zakowski Garrard and husband Clayton of Casey, IL; and Angie Zakowski Katz and husband Mark of Connecticut; twenty grandchildren: Katrina Phillips, Michael Clark, Heath Clark, Macey Clark, Terry Clark, Randy Clark, Trey Clark, Trisha Clark, Haley Clark, Dennis Wayne Durnal III, Baylee Durnal, Amanda Stutesman, Ashley Stutesman, Cassandra Stutesman, Sasha Coco, Nick Stutesman, Ryan Stutesman, Hunter Stutesman, Jake Stutesman, Landery Stutesman; seven great grandchildren: Katie Lemonte, Mitch Clark, Courtney Phillips, Riley Phillips, Mashayla Besch, Jaxson Miller and Aiden Wooley. He later married Teryl Gernigin in 2007 and helped raise her two special daughters, Marybell and Lisa Gernigin of Casey, IL. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Freda Durnal. Dude was a self employed painter and carpenter for many years. He worked as a Deputy for the Clark County Sheriffs Department from 1980 through 1985. He was a US Marine Corp. veteran having served from 1960 through 1963. He participated with the Masonic Lodge and Clark County Shriner's from 1982 through 2005. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Ivan Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery in Casey, IL with military graveside service rites by the Casey V.F.W. and the Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the family c/o Markwell Funeral Home, P.O.
