Dennis Clark Burnett's Obituary
Dennis Clark Burnett, 58, of Casey, IL passed away at 2:58 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born March 12, 1956 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Olin Clark Burnett and Shirley Maurine Gardner Burnett. Survivors include his father, Clark Burnett of Casey, IL; daughter, Brandy Jo Nash and husband Chris of Greenup, IL; sons, Dylan Clark Burnett and Wyatt Eugene Burnett of Martinsville, IL and Jesse Olin Burnett of Holloman AFB, NM; grandchildren, Cooper and Reid Nash; sister, Nancy Simonton and husband Gary of Casey, IL; uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and his dogs, Duke and Hoss. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and mother. Dennis was a 1974 graduate of Casey High School. He was employed as a machine operator for the Dana Corporation in Robinson, IL and had previously worked at Trailmobile in Charleston, IL. As a young man Dennis was baptized and saved at the First Christian Church in Casey. He enjoyed riding horses and barrel racing. Dennis would travel to the local fairs and 4-H fairs to show cattle and horses and had a Reserved Grand Champion at the Illinois State Fair. Dennis loved taking care of his dogs and spending time in the outdoors. He lived in the woods and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Markwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Penelope H. Barber officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazel Dell North Cemetery, Hazel Dell, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
