David Dane Spurgeon's Obituary
David Dane Spurgeon, 56, of Casey, Illinois and formerly of the Mountain Grove, Missouri area passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2007 at his home in Casey, Illinois. He was born April 23, 1951 in Mountain Grove, Missouri the son of Elbert Spurgeon and Elsie Jewel Hicks Spurgeon. On March 11, 1984 he married Nancy Jo Jarvis in Casey, Illinois. Survivors include his wife Nancy J. Spurgeon of Casey, Illinois; sons, Sheldon Joe Spurgeon and wife Mandy of Saint Joseph, Missouri and Dusten Shane Spurgeon of Casey, Illinois; daughter, Samantha Jo Spurgeon of Casey, Illinois, parents, Elbert and Jewel Spurgeon of Saint Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Ryan and Myah Spurgeon of Saint Joseph, Missouri; brothers, Thomas Spurgeon of Springfield, Missouri and Rodney Spurgeon and his wife Janie of Savannah, Tennessee. Mr. Spurgeon was a factory supervisor for Brown Shoe Company and Ettlebrick Shoe Company in Casey and Greenup, Illinois. He was a US Navy Vietnam veteran and a member of the American Legion in Greenup, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church, Stoney Point, Missouri with Rev. Claud Evans officiating. Burial will be in the Jarvis Cemetery in Stoney Point, Missouri with Graveside Military Rites. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church.
