David Carroll's Obituary
David Carroll, 62, of Bourbonnais, died Friday (Feb. 3, 2006) at Riverside Medical Center emergency room, following a sudden illness. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, and from 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at College Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais until the 1:30 p.m. funeral service. Dr. Jeffery Crosno will officiate. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family wishes. Mr. Carroll was former owner and operator of Pied Piper Construction, Pied Piper Pest Control and C.S. Rentals. He was born April 1, 1943, in Terre Haute, Ind., the son of Herman and Lota Whittinghill Carroll. He was a member of College Church of the Nazarene and Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed taking care of his yard, reading and was interested in the environment. His passion was to be an organic farmer. Surviving are his wife, the former Regina Bertrand, whom he married April 18, 1964, at Maternity BVM Catholic Church in Bourbonnais; one son, Christopher Carroll of Bourbonnais; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Penny Schimanek of Bourbonnais, Deborah and Daryl Birge of Scottsville, Ky., Tiffany and Brad Castongia of Bradley; eight grandchildren, Joshua Shimanek, Kelsey Shimanek, Dylan Birge, Hayley Birge, Dawson Birge, Dalton Birge, Nicole Simpkins and Coty Castongia; and four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Louise Hale of Champaign, Norma and Bill Shott of Pittsfield, Shirley and Bill Loew of Michigan, and Ruth and Jim Yates of Casey. His parents; two brothers, Cecil and Glenn; two sisters, Evelyn and Lucille; and one grandson, Michael Kinstner, are deceased.
