Danny L Miller's Obituary
Danny L. Miller, 61, of Palatine, IL, formerly of Casey, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Loyola University Health System, while awaiting a heart transplant. He was born on September 4, 1952 in Terre Haute, IN to the late W.O. Miller and Geraldine Roan Miller. He married Patti Bahnick on May 30, 1980 in Chicago, IL. Danny followed in his father's footsteps in the thoroughbred racing industry and went on to be a trainer and owner. He was a trainer for over 30 years with his wife in Chicago and also at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Survivors include his wife, Patti Miller of Palatine, IL; son, Blake Miller of Palatine, IL; mother, Geraldine (Jerry) Miller of Casey, IL; sisters, Deborah Lindsay and husband Ricky of Bolingbrook, IL and Judy Miller of Casey, IL; aunt, Elois Roan Holt and husband Keith of Terre Haute, IN; nieces, Kimberlee Lindsay and Amber Lindsay of Bolingbrook, IL; great nephews, Markus and Christian of Bolingbrook, IL; several cousins and very special friends, Ronnie and Nila Fain of Casey, IL. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the First Christian Church, 200 SE Eighth St., Casey, IL with Rev. Jan Harris officiating. Charitable donations may be made in Danny's name to Galloping Out Thoroughbred Retirement Fund, 7301 West 25th St., Suite 321, North Riverside, IL 60546. This is an adoption program for thoroughbreds that have raced in Illinois but can no longer race.
