Dan L. Beasley, 60, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 2:54 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at his home. He was born December 30, 1947 in Martinsville, Illinois, the son of Harry Thomas Beasley and Mina M. Shawver Beasley. Survivors include son, John Beasley of Casey, IL; daughter, Lori O'Rourke of Bloomington, IN; brother, Gene Beasley and wife Ruth of Casey, IL; brother, William Beasley of Effingham, IL; brother, Robert Beasley and wife Connie of Casey, IL; sister, Dorothy Hacker of Casey, IL; mother of his children, Cathy Downey of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan and Emily O'Rourke and many nieces and nephews. His parents, brother, Joe Beasley and sisters, Thelma Lamb, Wanda L. Walters and Pearl Clark preceded him in death. Dan previously worked as a mechanic at Ashley Garage and owned a gas station in DeKalb, IL. He was also a building service worker at Eastern Illinois University for over twenty years. Dan was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Casey VFW #5762. He was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Casey, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Casey, IL with Father Mike Haag and Father Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Street Cemetery with graveside military rites by the Casey VFW and Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will be held from 9 - 11 a.m. prior to the service at the Church. Memorials donations and contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301, Attn: Gift Processing. Memorial tributes and condolences may be sent to the family at www.markwellfuneralhome.com.
