Claudia Imogene Oliver's Obituary
Claudia Imogene Oliver, 88, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 5:35 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born March 16, 1927 in Knight, Louisiana the daughter of Enoch Marshall and Janie Chance Marshall. On January 5, 1946 she married Lloyd Eugene Oliver in Effingham IL. He passed away on January 20, 1967. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda (David) Swisher of Marshall, IL and Linda Erb of Texas; grandchildren, Tommy (Brittney) Hardy of West Union, IL; Nathan Buxton of Charleston, IL; Carla Erb of Texas and Terry Erb of California and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Glenn Oliver; daughter, Claudette Buxton; brothers, Frank, Sam and Isaac and sisters, Mary, Mable and Mae. Mrs. Oliver retired at the age of 72 as a LPN. She was very passionate about her nursing career; it was a great part of her life. She had previously worked at Heartland Nursing Center, Burnsides Nursing Center, Hilltop Nursing Home and the Paris Hospital. Claudia was a faithful and active member of the Marshall Baptist Church in Marshall, IL and loved collecting salt and pepper shakers with an accumulation of about 2000. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2509 S. Neil St., Champaign, IL 61820.
