Claude Oliver "Bud" Sherman's Obituary
Claude "Bud" Oliver Sherman, Sr., 83, of Casey, Illinois, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010 at his residence. He was born on June 2, 1927 in Logansport, Indiana, the son of Elmer Sherman and Nellie Baldwin Sherman. On October 21, 1968 he married Sandra Kay Saxton in Las Vegas, Nevada. Survivors include his wife, Sandy Sherman of Casey, IL; sons, Larry Sherman and wife Margaret of Greenville, SC and Claude Oliver Sherman, Jr. and wife Andrea of New Lenox, IL; daughters, Karen McKeever of Huntington, IN and Patricia Street of Logansport, IN; sister, Ethel Cleveland and husband Cecil of Buchanan, MI; ten grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, brothers, Dale, Jack, and Dick Sherman and sisters, Betty Howell and Rosie Ault. Bud was a building contractor and built many homes over the years. He owned and operated Bud's Bait Shop in Casey, IL for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Casey, IL and was a US Army WWII Veteran. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at First Baptist Church, Casey, IL with Rev. John Blaylock officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery with Graveside Military Rites by the Casey VFW and the Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday evening at the First Baptist Church. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
