Clarina Cowling's Obituary
Clarina Cowling, 80, a long time resident of Casey, IL died peacefully in the Golden Living Center - Fountainview, Mishawaka on Saturday, November 27th 2010. Helen Clarina, the last of five children, was born, on May 29th, 1930 to Virgil and Alice Dean in Mount Carmel, Illinois. She graduated from Mount Carmel High School and married the true love of her life, Addison Duane Cowling on October 1, 1950. After settling in Casey, Clarina worked at local banks; first, at the Casey First National Bank and later at the Bank of Casey. She loved her work, her customers and her co-workers. As a young adult and prayerful Christian, Clarina was an active member of the First Christian Church, where she led a youth group. Later, she continued worshipping and volunteering at the Casey United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, giving her time joyfully and extravagantly to her son. The greatest joy for Clarina was her grandchildren, son and daughter-in-law. She is survived by her husband, Addison D. "Bud" Cowling; son, Addison Dean Cowling (Shelly) of Granger; and grandchildren, Addison Dalton Cowling and Holley Nicole Cowling; as well as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Clarina was preceded in death by her father, mother, three sisters and brother. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6th, in the Casey United Methodist Church, Casey, IL with Dr. Penelope H. Barber officiating. The family will greet friends Sunday, Dec. 5th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey.
