My fondest memory of Cindy is when we met in Fort Pierce, Florida in 1981. She was living with her mom and dad. We became instant friends and found a cottage to rent on Hutchinson Island in Ft. Pierce by Archies, an iconic beach bar with pool tables and fun. And we had fun together. Cindy was a pro baking zucchini bread and giving good solid advice. We were pretty much together for two years. During that time, we went to Ohio to stay with her younger brother Kurt and his wife. I also met Bruce and Janelle. That was a fun time too. We had so much snow while we were there. Then we went back to Fort Pierce to spend more time working, her at the truck stop, and me at the Donut Shop. Then times became tough and we were having a hard time making ends meet. So Cindy was going back to Illinois and on the way, dropped me off at my moms house in Parsippany, NJ. Those were my fondest memories being in Cindy. We tried many times to meet up again but never did, but enjoyed phone conversations and exchanged Christmas cards. We lost touch completely last year when I was in the middle of moving again. After I settled in a new place, I tried to call her and sent her letters but didn't hear back. I didn't know she was sick and passed away. She will be forever in my heart as a true and loving friend. Love and Peace Always, Donna Roth.
