Christine Goodwin's Obituary
Christine Hock Goodwin, age 91, the youngest daughter of John Rubin & Luella May Norbitt Hock was born February 5, 1921 in Cumberland County, Casey, IL. She crossed over into eternity on February 25, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL, where she had lived for the last eight years. She married Clarence V. Goodwin on January 19, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He departed this life on September 26, 1976. They raised three children together, Judith Joan, deceased, Lee Wayne Goodwin (wife, Norletta), and Karen Kay Hutchings, all of Casey, IL. Christine has eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded by her parents, husband, daughter, brother, Howard Hock and sisters, Ollie Scott, Susie Ruffner and Helen Winters. Christine lived her whole life in Casey, IL with the exception of one year in Dayton, Ohio during WWII, while serving at Wright Field., She was employed by Ettlebrick Shoe Factory and Casey Nursing Home in her younger days. Christine was a member of Casey First Church of the Nazarene. She had enjoyed needlework and crocheting. Family and friends will gather at the Markwell Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 for her funeral service with Rev. Gene Southard officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 12 (noon) to 2 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N.
