Charles E. Miller, Sr.'s Obituary
Charles Edward Miller, Sr., age 87, of Casey, IL passed away at 12:56 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born June 25, 1931 in Gary, IN, the son of Elihue Miller and Dessie Gross Miller Chapman. On September 4, 1970 he married Mary Lucile Arney in Casey, IL. Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Mary Miller of Casey, IL; sons, Charles Miller, Jr. (Myrtle) of Casey, IL and Terry Miller of Casey, IL; stepchildren, Rick Hayden (Vonnie) of Locust Grove, GA; Roger Hayden (Meg) of Westfield, NJ; Ron Hayden (Cathy) of Martinsville, IL and Renee Honselman (Terry) of Casey, IL; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert Miller, Clyde Miller, Larry Chapman and Oscar Lee Chapman and sister, Mary Jane Chapman. Charles was a 1949 graduate of Casey High School. He was a self-employed carpenter and farmer. He enjoyed his garden (especially his roses) and was always busy creating, especially houses and stained glass. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4" " 6 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday evening at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Burial will be held at a later date in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Memorial donations may be made to Casey Fire Department, 10234 N 230th St., Casey, IL 62420.
