Charles E Coleman's Obituary
Charles Edgar Coleman, 89, of Casey, IL, formerly of Ashmore, IL, passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. He was born September 21, 1920 in Trilla, IL, the son of Elmer Coleman and Emma Kingery Coleman. On November 18, 1944, he married Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Brooks in Ashmore, IL. She passed away on April 5, 2003. Survivors include his daughter, Charlene Smith and husband Carle of Battle Creek, MI; brother, James Coleman of Janesville, IL; son in law, Gary Blagg of Battle Creek, MI; grandchildren, Lisa McLachlan of Harvard, IL, Polly Ulrey of Mesquite, TX, James Warner of Battle Creek, MI and Amy Wilkins of Casey, IL; eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. His parents, wife, daughter, Darlene Blagg, brother, Harold Coleman and sister, Carrie Crowder preceded him in death. Mr. Coleman was a retired farmer and Security Guard for Pinkerton Detective Agency. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mattoon, IL and Odd Fellow Lodge in Grandview, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Tom Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Enon Cemetery, Ashmore, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2509 S.
